March 16th-23rd Cost: £405
This Spring Course is aimed at the student who is keen to develop her own style of work, and her design skills. I have chosen gardens as a source of inspiration for the week and we shall spend the first day at the Lost Gardens of Heligan where there is an abundance of colour, shape, pattern, line and form, just waiting to be soaked up! A range of samples will be developed using various techniques, such as painting on fabric; transfer printing; painting bondaweb, using mixed media, hand and machine quilting.
March 23rd-30th Cost: £405
This week we shall use Modern Artists, (painters, sculptors, architects) as a source of inspiration for developing design ideas, and producing final designs for a piece of work of your choice (possibly a hanging, a small quilt, or a cushion or two). We shall start the course work on the Saturday, rather than spending the day at Heligan.
November 9th-16th Cost: £399
This week I will have a small selection of projects on offer for those who enjoy learning new patchwork ideas and skills. Perhaps you have a pile of UFO's you have lost interest in, or need some help with…. A week in this glorious location, with wonderful facilities and expert tuition will certainly provide an injection of fresh enthusiasm.
You can work on old projects with help and support and /or start something new.
The outline of the week is explained in the introductory paragraph omitting the day at Heligan on the Saturday and having a sewing day instead. Meals, as indicated, included in the cost.
November 16th-23rd Cost: £399
Design for the terrified!!
This course is designed to give students the tools and the confidence for producing fresh, totally original work.
Each day we will look at a new design approach. There will be lots of "hands on", where everyone will create their own ideas. I shall provide lots of samples; lots of ideas myself, and I shall assume no knowledge, therefore, everyone will be taught techniques absolutely from scratch.
